DBX1424 Metal Dryer vent Box with Optional Trim Ring

Description:

The DBX1424 Dryer Vent Box with snap on trim ring is powder coated white, designed to work with pedestal and stackable dryers. The 14″ wide by 24″ tall, 24 gauge metal box and ring is designed to fit into a 2×6 framed wall. The DBX1424 has inside dimensions that are 3 1/2 inches taller than any other manufactured dryer vent enclosures. Thereby, accommodating all pedestal heights. This dryer vent box enclosure is designed to be used with or without the trim ring. It is designed to be installed in single family or multi-family units. This is not designed to be installed on a 1 hour firewall.

The DBX1424’s boxes are packaged 5 per carton. The DBX1424 Metal rings are packaged in a separate carton, 5 per carton

The DBX1424 is the only box on the market that is designed to meet all floor mount, pedestal and floor mount height requirements. It is designed to be used with or without a trim ring. The DBX1424 also has the Length identification label inside it to meet the 2015 IMC building code requirement. IMC 504.8.5

SECTION 504.2 EXHAUST PENETRATIONS
Where a clothes dryer exhaust duct penetrates  a wall or ceiling membrane, the annular space shall be sealed with noncombustible material, approved fire caulking or a noncombustible dryer exhaust duct wall receptacle.

“LENGTH IDENTIFICATION”
This section requires the installer to provide a tag or label within 6′ of the dryer exhaust stating how many elbows  and length of the dryer exhaust until it exits the residence.
